Tim Hung, 2021

The power of film is to make people feel less alone. It tells minority stories, stories people can relate to, in ways that other art forms can’t. I have a ‘big three’ for [favorite] directors: Christoper Nolan, Martin Scorsese and Quentin Tarantino. My favorite movies from them are ‘The Dark Knight,’ ‘Inception,’ ‘Pulp Fiction’ and ‘The Irishman.’ 2019’s ‘The Irishman’ is really good. ‘The Irishman’ is the story of De Niro’s character and all the lessons he learned as he reflects on his life at an older age. This form of storytelling is the most compelling to me because Scorsese is having someone struggle with betrayal and friendship the hard way, so we don’t have to.”
