On-the-Go Desserts
A quick, versatile recipe for a delicious dessert
Have you ever had a sweet tooth at the end of a meal, but not in the mood to bake, I have had the same epiphany and to solve the issue, I discovered 5-minute mug cakes. Mug cakes are single-serving cakes that take minimal effort, but completely satisfy your sweet tooth.
Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons of all-purpose flour
- 2 tablespoons of cocoa powder
- 2 tablespoons of granulated sugar
- 1/8 teaspoon of salt
- 1/4 teaspoon of baking powder
- 1 tablespoon of canola oil (can be substituted with coconut oil or vegan/non-vegan butter)
- 3 tablespoons of milk (can be substituted with non-dairy milk)
- 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract
- 2 tablespoons of chocolate chips
For this recipe, there are many things that you could tweak, you could make it funfetti or vanilla flavored simply by removing the cocoa powder and chocolate chips, and you can make it non-dairy by substituting the dairy products with non-dairy products.
Instructions
1. Start by taking your favorite mug, combine your flour, cocoa powder, sugar, and your salt to the mug and use a spoon to incorporate the ingredients.
2. After the dry ingredients are mixed together, add in your wet ingredients and mix until all flour pockets are gone. I like to take half of the chocolate chips and stir them in as well and take the other half and sprinkle them on top, this makes the top gooey.
3. Once everything is combined, microwave it for about 50 seconds, you can do less if you like it a little bit raw in the center or more if you do not, this recipe is interchangeable for your preferences.
Once it is out of the microwave, you can enjoy it and serve it with some ice cream!
