Terrified. The title of fakemink’s newly released album, and a feeling that fakemink captures perfectly with the dark, eerie production of his second studio album. Fakemink, real name Vincenzo Nischal Camille Bhatia, has become one of the most popular up-and-coming rappers from the United Kingdom, exploding from the underground rap scene in 2025. His release of “Terrified .” marks his second studio album.
On “Terrified .”, fakemink uses a pitched up voice on lots of the tracks, making for an extremely unique effect which I really enjoy. However, this can sometimes become unpleasant, with his rapping becoming monotone or his vocals becoming repetitive, which makes some songs harder to revisit. In terms of beats and production, they definitely exemplify the name of the album, “Terrified,” super well, with the album as a whole giving off this dark, eerie energy, while building suspense the whole way through. Lyrically, fakemink goes through a lot of the struggles that come with gaining fame, including substance abuse, fake friends, and paranoia, themes that I think perfectly match with the beats and energy. I personally think in order to experience “Terrified .” the best, you should first listen through the album in order without any skips to really understand what vibe fakemink was aiming for with this album. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed listening, and I really look forward to seeing what fakemink will do next.
After listening to the album thoroughly multiple times, here are some of my thoughts on my favorite tracks.
Terrified
The title track and first song of the album, “Terrified” doesn’t actually have any lyrics, being purely instrumental. However, I included it because of how well it builds suspense for the album, and how well its production encapsulates the vibe of the album as a whole. It includes a dark, eerie, EDM instrumental sound that gives you the sense that “something’s approaching”. The song ends off with a creepy-sounding scream. Personally, I think this song really helps build the suspense of the album, and definitely exemplifies the name “Terrified” perfectly.
Like a Virgin
The production on this song is genuinely amazing. The beat builds on itself extremely well, combining dramatic drums with these sonic-wave, bouncy sounds. The song gives off a dramatic, hopeless energy as fakemink talks about the feeling of not being enough, as “blood pumps through [his] skeleton”, paired with the beat makes for an extremely unique song.
Hard Candy
“Hard Candy” represents one word perfectly: Hyper. Fakemink’s high pitched voice, combined with the loud, sped-up track, creates the sense that you are racing through time, which I really enjoyed after a few listens. It’s super high-energy, and just fun to listen to overall.
Night , Blooming Jasmine .
Fakemink actually released “Night, Blooming Jasmine .” as a single after he previewed the song at Coachella 2026. It’s the most popular song on the album, and for good reason. Again, this beat is just amazing. The back track sounds exactly like something you would hear while raving at a nightclub, combined with the song’s beat makes for a nostalgic, playful energy. I would recommend this song to anyone as a first taste of fakemink as an artist.
