1 tsp almond extract (or any flavor you prefer)
Green food coloring

Tools
Baking sheet
Parchment paper
Large bowl
Electric mixer

Recipe
Step One
Preheat the oven to 225°F (107°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Step Two
In a large bowl, beat the egg whites and cream of tartar with an electric mixer on medium speed until soft peaks form.
Step Three
Gradually add the sugar, one tablespoon at a time, while continuing to beat on high speed until stiff peaks form. (You can tell it’s done if you can put it over your head without spilling!)
Step Four
Add the almond (or other flavor) extract and green food coloring, mixing until evenly colored.
Step Five
Transfer the meringue mixture into a piping bag fitted with a star tip.
Step Six
Pipe the meringue into small tree shapes on the prepared baking sheet.
Step Seven
Bake for 1 hour and 15 minutes, then turn off the oven and let the cookies cool completely inside the oven.
Step Eight
Once cooled, dust with powdered sugar or sparkles, or decorate with sprinkles!
ENJOY!
